The Silk Alliance is built on the belief that children thrive in schools which seek to encourage both academic and personal growth. We are committed to the notion that outstanding teachers and outstanding leaders make a real difference and we place a high priority on innovative teaching and learning. Schools within the Alliance are mainly centred within the Macclesfield / Poynton area. Our partners offer expertise in a range of contexts and phases so our trainees will benefit from many different experiences whilst on placement.
In our work with those new to the profession, our aim is to develop colleagues who share our passion for creative, exciting teaching and learning. We work closely with our University partners to share the delivery of the programme and we make sure you are guided by experienced and committed mentors during your school placements in good or outstanding schools.
You will spend part of the time studying at the university and you will follow a bespoke programme of professional studies in school. Our trainees say the programme is the “best of both worlds” combining excellent lectures at the university with lots of school experience where you can immediately apply what you have learned in the classrooms.
